Nestled between 47th and 48th street on 7th Avenue in Edson, Alberta, stands the Red Brick Arts Centre and Museum.
The Red Brick Arts Centre and Museum, known also as Edson's Cultural Cornerstone, has served thousands of people from the community and surrounding area, in a multitude of forms, as a school facility from 1913-1967, and later through museum tours, facility rentals, community programming, and other events in present day. Today ECHO - Edson Cultural Heritage Organization owns and operates the Red Brick Arts Centre and Museum. ECHO is a non-profit, volunteer organization and registered charity that relies on fundraising, grants, and donations to uphold the history and integrity of this beautiful building.
Throughout each annual year, the Red Brick hosts three main fundraisers, including our Strawberry Tea and Garage Sale, Harvest Bazaar, and the Festival of Trees. We also host community programming throughout the year for children and adults alike. A detailed list of 2022 events can be found on our upcoming events page. All events are made possible with the help of generous donations, and of course, our wonderful team of volunteers and our dedicated Board of Directors.
Today, the Red Brick Arts Centre and Museum houses a 141 seat theatre, and art gallery rental space, a school-room and principals office museum, resident dance company Essence Dance, and Edson LEAP Therapy Resource Centre, and various other organizations through facility rentals.
